Violin and Bow

Adults will use a full size.

Children will use fractional sizes.

Here’s how to measure for fractional sizes.

Extend your left arm straight out, parallel to the floor, palm facing up.
Measure from the base of your neck (collarbone area) to the middle of your palm.
This measurement determines your violin size.

Shoulder rest: Clips to the back to hold the violin comfortably on your collarbone.

Rosin: Sticky tree sap rubbed on the bow hair to create friction and sound.

Music stand: Holds your sheet music at eye level.

Metronome: Keeps your rhythm steady while you practice.

Cleaning cloth: Wipes away rosin dust after every practice.
